Rajasthan Mahila Vidyalaya (RMV), widely acknowledged as one of the premier institutes for girls’ education in the city of Udaipur, was established in 1916 on the auspicious day of Vijaya Dashmi. It has the credit of being the seat of learning for girls from nursery to postgraduate level. Establishing an educational institution for girls about a century back at a time when, to think of education of girls was a rare phenomenon in the state of Rajasthan and much less in the region of Mewar.
This was really a very bold step taken by the founder, philanthropist and social worker Shri Bheru lal Ji Gelda, his friends and other visionaries. Rajasthan Mahila Vidyalaya with its rich illustrious history is situated in the heart of the city of lakes, Udaipur, the ancient Capital City of historical Mewar State strategically girded by spectacularly green, lofty and minerals rich Aravali hills and beautiful lakes.
Started as a sapling with one student and a teacher the organization has expanded its horizon into a huge educational tree. It has produced many committed social workers, dynamic officers, renowned teachers and versatile homemakers in the society.
To meet the demand of times, to benefit everyone in society and to establish excellence in education with their experience, the educationists and devoted authorities of the RMV trust thought of a new vision and thus an English Medium Co-educational School “The Vision Academy School” came into being. In 2008, the school started with only 8 students and by the end of the session, 80 students were enrolled. The school upgraded to a Secondary level in 2017 by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education. It is continuously establishing new standards in education and is also upgraded to a senior secondary School in 2019 by the Rajasthan Board of Secondary Education.
